The Church of St. Nicolas is older and smaller church in Morača Monastery. It is located next to the main entrance to monastery complex. At the time, it was usual to build a smaller church first, which was to be used during the monastery construction (i.e. in this case during its restoration). Its frescoes still attract attention. They were created in 1639, and are considered as some of the most beautiful frescoes in Montenegro. The church in Gornja Rovca, dedicated to St. Nicolas, is probably older than Morača Monastery.
