Biogradska Gora National Park is located in the northeast part of Montenegro, between Tara and Lim rivers, in the middle part of Bjelasica Mountain. It is the first National Park in Montenegro, founded in 1952, and spreads across the area of 5650 hectare. The protection of this magnificent area of nature started in 1878 with King Nikola Petrović’s persistence to preserve this area so that future generations could enjoy it.
The entrance to Biogradska Gora is less than 20 km between Mojkovac and Kolašin. Bjelasica is the greenest Montenegrin mountain, very rich with water. The forests of Biogradska Gora are literally fantastic. They are located on the slopes with difference in altitude of 1000 m, surrounding shores of Lake Biograd, with calming beauty and vast diversity of micro climate in a small area. Lake Biograd is surrounded with forest, which is one of the three most famous rain forests in Europe. It allows visitors to enjoy in beautiful landscapes, take photos and rest in shades of three-hundred-years old rainforest. Quick rivers cut the scenery of Biogradska Gora, green pastures and impeccably clean lakes with forest reflection.
