Sinjavin cycling marathon

The Sinjavinski Cycling Marathon is an event that has been organized for the past four years by the NGO Sinjavinski Marathon with the support of the Municipality of Kolašin, TO Kolašin, and TO Žabljak,  

The marathon is a festival event, taking place in September, with the start of the 2023 marathon in the municipality of Žabljak, from Vrtoč Polje.

Participants cross one of the most beautiful Montenegrin mountains by bicycle. 

The goal of the event is the promotion of Sinjavina and a large number of undiscovered regions that have not yet been valorized for tourism.

The 2023 marathon brought together around 80 participants, who competed on a 57-kilometer course, with competitors ranging in age from 15 to 74.

Cyclists start early in the morning from Vrtoč field, on the border of the Žabljak and Šavnik municipalities, and then through Kričačko and Staračko fields, and the katuns of Podstarac, Previja, Kuline and Ječmen dol, to reach Vratlo, then through the village of Lipovo and to Kolašin.

At the seventh or eighth kilometer is the Okruglica katun and there is a major climb of 1,600 meters in length, with an elevation difference of about 100 meters. You should pay attention to Vratlo, where the descent begins. You pass through Lipovo, Blatine and along the main road to Kolašin, to Trg Boraca.
