Fishing

Fishing in Kolašin is a real treat and an unforgettable experience for all lovers. The Tara River is rich in fish of the solomoid (noble) species. Considering that fishing also takes place in the Durmitor National Park zone, and that the Tara River Canyon is the second largest in the world (the highest point of the canyon is 1,300 m), combined with wild, untouched nature and beautiful landscapes, it makes fishing a true adventure. Fishing on the Tara is allowed only with artificial baits.

The most common fish species are: Brown trout, average size: 0.5–5 kg –10 kg; Trout,

average size: 15–20 kg–40 kg; Lipljan – average size 0.3–2 kg.

Fishing on Tara takes place in three areas:

  • Fishing ban – from Kolašin, downstream along the Tara River for a length of 6km;
  • Hunting outside the bans – Kolašin-Mojkovac, 30 km long;
  • Hunting in Durmitor National Park. 

Fishing on the Morača River

The Morača Canyon, 38 km long and 1,050 m deep, is a real challenge for the eye with its beautiful landscapes, flora and erosive forms. All this, combined with the beautiful river, provides an ideal fishing experience. The river is rich in: brown trout, grayling, bream (especially the capital species - glavatica). Fishing is allowed only with artificial baits (lures, flies).

Fishing on Biograd Lake

Lake Biograd, of glacial origin, one of the most beautiful lakes in the Balkans, located at an altitude of 1,094 m above sea level, 1,100 m long with an average depth of 4.5 m, is not only a beautiful and peaceful place for fishing, but a kind of reserve of beauty and relaxation for all the senses.

The lake is located 18 km from Kolašin. The lake is rich in trout (California, lake, brown, and brook trout). Fishing is permitted only with artificial baits (lures, flies).

Fishing is allowed from 01. 05.-22. 06. between 07:00 and 19:00, fishing days: Tuesday, Sunday and public holidays.

A maximum of 4 trout are allowed to be caught.
