This mountain range extends imperceptibly from Mount Lola, embraced by the Moraca River on its northeastern and eastern flanks. To the south, the craggy peaks of the Maganik mountain guard, while the western side reveals the enchanting sight of the canyon of the river Mrtvica.
Access to the Moraca mountains is a journey of discovery, either through the Mrtvica Canyon from Medjurijecje or the northern gate of Dragovic Polje. Summer rainfall generously nourished these mountains, encouraging lush pastures that thrive in abundance.
The Moraca Mountains and Kapetanovo Lake attracts a lot of adventurers. At 1,678 m, this pristine lake stretches 480 meters in length, and 380 meters in width and plunges to a depth of 37 meters. Its crystal clear waters reflect the surrounding peaks, creating a haven amidst the rugged landscape.
The canyon of the river Mrtvica testifies to the greatness of nature. Characterized by steep cliffs, narrow passages punctuated by beautiful pools of water, cascading waterfalls and hot springs, the canyon is a spectacle that delights every visitor. It's a missed opportunity to cross the Moracke mountains without exploring the wonders of Mrtvice Canyon.
Reaching to the sky, the highest peaks of Moracke mountains, including Lastva (2.226 m), Zagradac (2.217 m), Stozac (2.141 m), and Vojnovac (2.072 m), attract countless nature lovers.
