This trail offers a great opportunity to explore the entire Komovi mountain massif. Although it does not include summiting the peaks, it is demanding due to its length and total elevation gain of about 750 m. The circuit can be completed in either direction starting from the Stavna plateau.
The best access point to the circular Komovi trail is the Stavna plateau, but the trail can also be reached from Ljuban, Rogami, Pricelje katun, and Carine katun via gravel roads.
The route can be divided into three stages:
I. Stavna – Ljuban (5.2 km)
II. Ljuban – Carine katun (5.5 km)
III. Carine katun – Stavna (8.1 km)
The marked trail begins on the Stavna plateau. The first 1.2 km overlaps with the routes to Kom Vasojevicki, Kom Kucki, and Kom Ljevorecki, following a gravel road through the forest. After leaving the forest, the trail passes to the left of Eco katun Martinovic (1,702 m), then continues uphill westward for about 1.2 km to a saddle and the highest point of this stage, across the Ljuban plateau.
At the start of 2nd stage, after descending into a valley (for about 1.2 km), beautiful views open up: to the left are the western ridges of Kom Ljevorecki and Kom Kucki, while to the south appears Rogamski Peak (2,303 m). This is the most scenic part of the trail. From the valley, the trail climbs southward over rocky and grassy terrain, passing smaller hills and scree slopes. From the base of Rogamski Peak, a steeper ascent begins. At the beginning of this section, there is a large rock with a spring beneath it - Crni izvor (Rogamsko vrelo), the source of the Crnja River. The trail reaches a plateau below Rogamski Peak, which is the highest point of the circular route (2,107 m). From there, it is about 850 m to the saddle between Rogamski Peak (2,303 m) and Suvovrh (2,211 m). The trail then gently descends along a sloping hillside above Pricelje katun to the saddle (2,094 m).
From Pricelje, the trail descends steeply for about 1.5 km over rocky and grassy terrain to Carine katun (Popovici katun) at 1,870 m. There are several huts here, although most are no longer in use. A water source is located above the access road to the katun, about 200 m before its end.
The 3rd stage begins at Carine katun with a descent of about 130 m, after which the trail passes below Bavan Peak through open terrain and pine forest. After reaching the lowest point, the trail gradually climbs above the Mojanska River valley toward Varda (1,782 m), a meadow and viewpoint with wide views of the surrounding mountains and valleys.
The final section leads from Varda back to Stavna (about 2.2 km), with gentle ascents and descents through the forest. The trail returns to the Stavna plateau near Vulici katun, completing the loop.
