Summer pasture Vranjak – Troglava - Zekova glava – Crna glava peaks

Beginning of the trail: Summer pasture Vranjak, 1.800 m.

Finish: under Zekova glava peak, 2.117 m / Crna glava peak 2.139 m.

Altitude difference: Zakova glava - 317 m, Crna glava - 339 m.

Trail length: to Zekova glava 3.7 km, to Crna glava 7 km.

Time required for the ascent: to Zekova glava - 1 hour and 20 minutes, to Crna glava - 2 hours and 15 minutes.

The tour starts from summer pasture Vranjak, next to the border with NP Biogradska gora. Summer pasture was created on the basis of the tradition and life of the locals centuries ago, until today. In summer pasture you can find local organic food and national specialties. The macadam road continues to the mountain lodge Bjelasica which is about 1 km from Vranjak where we get our first impressions of the mountain: rounded grassy peaks.

To the south there is a view at mountains Komovi and Kljuc, while to the north a spacious valley with a rainforest and Biogradsko lake.

After a half kilometer of walking, you come to a crossroads: on the left, towards the spring of Biogradska river and on the right, a good macadam road continues along the southern slopes of Troglava and Zekova glava peaks. It follows narrow macadam road, that go around the fenced area where is Zekova glava peak and leads to the one of the most beautiful viewpoints on Bjelasica. The view extends to Crna glava peak and Pesica lake, continues to the left along the edge and get out onto a more visible macadam road that leads to Crna glava, the highest peak of Bjelasica, where this walking tour ends. On the way back, the trail leads below Troglava and pass the spring of the Biogradska river and back to summer pasture Vranjak.
