Many consider Jablanov Peak to be the highest peak on Sinjavina 2,203 m. If we categorize Torna 2,277 m and Gradita-Vranova Glava 2,215 m as peaks of Sinjavina, then Jablanov Peak is actually the third highest.
The access road from the center of Kolasin to the trail beginning is 16.3 km long. After about 2 km on the main road Kolasin-Mojkovac-Bijelo Polje, you will reach an intersection in Bakovici village, where you turn left onto a paved local road leading toward the village of Lipovo.
The trail begins at the sharp left-hand bend on the Lipovo-Vratlo road, at the foot of the pass. Up to the Vratlo pass (1,737 m), the trail partly follows shortcuts, an old shepherd's path. From the Vratlo pass, the route to Jablanov vrh follows a gravel road for about 3 km to the Grkovo site. About 400 m from the Vratlo pass, you will come to a junction where you should turn right towards Grkovo (Jablanov vrh), while the path to the left continues towards the Ječmen do shepherd's hut. You will pass the road on the right of a hollow called Smrdan. The gravel road leads from Smrdan to Grkovo.
Grkovo is a plateau between the peaks Mali Starac on the left and Jablanov Peak on the right. Upon reaching Grkovo, these peaks are clearly visible from the path.
From the gravel road before the Grkovo hut, which continues northwards towards Ružice, a gravel road branches off to the right leading to the Grkovo artificial reservoir. The path passes by dilapidated huts, crosses a small rise and emerges onto Lake Grkovo. It continues along the left-hand edge of the dam and crosses a spacious plateau towards the slopes of Jablanovac Peak. You continue to move across clearer ground in the direction of the pass. There is no need to reach the pass; instead, at a suitable point, turn right (southwards) and head towards the summit. You reach the first summit, and from there, along the ridge on clear, grassy ground, you can easily reach the main summit.
The peak has rocky and grassy terrain, is spacious and safe. There are remains of a stone chapel that was intended as a tomb for a local resident. Using a motor vehicle, you can reach the accumulation Grkovo, 1,780 m, which makes the ascent to Jablanov Peak much easier. This way, you can shorten the trail by about 6.6 km and reduce the elevation gain by about 440 m.
