Rafting on the Tara River

Montenegro is one of the most attractive destinations for rafting, as it is home to the deepest canyon in Europe and the second deepest in the world, the Tara River Canyon. It is possible to raft for 130 km continuously (in months when the river's water level is lower – August), which is one of the longest rafting tours in Europe. Rafting can be organised all year round, but not along the entire length of the river. Rafting on the Tara can be a day trip or a multi-day trip, depending on the section of the river covered, and is booked through local travel agencies.
