The family restaurant Melaya 1600 is situated in the most beautiful katun of the Bjelasica mountain - the Melaja katun, on the very edge of the Biogradska Gora National Park. A plethora of things make Melaja unique: irreplaceable mountain air, rich pastures, potable spring water, a mixture of deciduous and coniferous forests and diverse medical herbs. Such a special treat at 1600 meters above sea level!
So close to the town, yet so far from the noise and crowds, Melaya 1600 is a hidden oasis which promises unforgettable mountain charms, tranquillity and serenity, all while enjoying the finest flavours of our cuisine and the hospitality of our hosts.
Traditional cuisine with authentic dishes such as kačamak, civara, meat roasted under the bell, pies and priganice, as well as homemade juice and dairy products.
Almost all our products are homemade - cheese and kaymak are obtained from cows that we raise, and vegetables are from our garden. We strive to provide our guests with the highest quality service, paying special attention to the ingredients we use.
Tasting old dishes prepared in the warm ambience of the restaurant will have you craving for more, and we will do our best to introduce you to the riches of the national cuisine and its deep history.
Dive into a friendly, warm atmosphere and allow us to meet your needs. Our youngest guests can enjoy activities tailored to their playful nature and have an active outdoor vacation.
As for hikers and true hedonists longing for a genuine mountain touch, we kindly offer accommodation in our mountain house to complement their activities. Accommodation can be arranged in the mountain house for a maximum of 6 people, following an agreement with the hosts.
Since our restaurant is situated amid untouched nature between the ski centre and the Biogradska Gora National Park, visitors can enjoy activities such as hiking tours to these locations, or a walk through the Ljevaja river canyon. Furthermore, the hosts can organise horse-riding tours, driving ATVs, as well as bike and jeep tours.
