Sinjavin cycling marathon

Sinjavin cycling marathon is a unique sports and tourist event that attracts an increasing number of nature, cycling and mountain lovers every year. The organizer is the NGO Sinjavinska Marathon, with the support of the Municipality of Kolašin, the Kolašin Tourist Organization and the Žabljak Tourist Organization.

The marathon is usually held in September, when Sinjavina offers its most beautiful landscapes – endless plateaus, autumn colors and peaceful katuns. The marathon starts sometimes from Kolašin, and sometimes from Vrtoč Polje, on the border of the municipalities of Žabljak and Šavnik, while the route, about 55 kilometers long, connects the two mountain centers.

Cycling through Sinjavina offers a special experience – passing through wide fields and plateaus, over katuns and mountain passes, with climbs and descents that make the route challenging and dynamic. The route leads through places such as Staračko polje, the katun Podstarac and Ječmen dola, and ends in Kolašin, after passing through Lipovo and Blatina.

The aim of the event is to promote Sinjavina, a mountain of exceptional natural beauty, which hides a large number of undiscovered areas and potential for the development of active tourism. The marathon is not competitive but rather a festival, allowing participants to enjoy a healthy lifestyle and active vacation in the company of other cyclists and natural beauties.

This manifestation combines sport, socializing and promotion of the destination, and offers cyclists and visitors the opportunity to get to know Sinjavina in an authentic way - through a ride that reveals the beauty and diversity of the mountain landscape of Montenegro.
