Bjelasica Marathon – Bjelasica Winter Adventure Race

The Visokogorci Montenegrin Mountaineering Club organizes the traditional Bjelasica Marathon – Bjelasica Winter Adventure Race – at the beginning of March.
The marathon is held in cooperation with the Kolašin Tourist Board, the Kolašin 1600 Ski Center and the Kolašin Municipality.
The Bjelasica Winter Adventure Race is the first competition of its kind in Montenegro, unique in the region and a great challenge for experienced competitors, but also for recreational runners and families. It is also a unique opportunity to get to know the beauties of Bjelasica in an exciting race.
The competition is divided into two categories: competitive and exhibition.
The competitive race takes place on a course of approximately 18 km with checkpoints. Competitors must be physically fit and have experience and skills in navigating unfamiliar terrain in winter conditions, and the course can be completed on snowshoes, as well as on touring or Nordic skis.
The family race is a great opportunity for families and those who are inexperienced but want to experience the mountains in winter conditions. The course is about 8 km long and follows a forest road, making navigation easy. No experience or advanced skills are required for this category.
