Eco katun Vranjak

At this place, the starry sky is crystal clear! For a decade, we have been offering you the chance to become part of the lives of Gorštak from bygone centuries. On Mount Bjelasica, right on the border with the Biogradska Gora National Park, at an altitude of 1,800 metres above sea level, lies Montenegro's first eco-village – the Vranjak eco-pasture.

Eko Katun was founded on the traditions and way of life of the Montenegrin Gorštaci, a heritage that has been passed down for centuries and continues to this day. At Eko Katun, on our own farm, we produce the organic food we serve to our guests. In the katun, you will have the opportunity to try some of the »forgotten« national specialities. Here you can hire mountain horses and ride to the nearby peaks of the National Park, see wool being spun in the old-fashioned way, listen to the sounds of the gusle if you wish, or play a mountain match of five-a-side football on the plateau below the katun. If you don't know how to ride, you have the option of taking a riding lesson, and if you don't fancy that, mountain bikes will be available. Here, there are countless opportunities for “endless” walks on the peaks and slopes of Bjelasica and the National Park…

You will experience the magic of the night in comfortable eco-huts with the night sounds of the mountains, the hoot of owls, or the howling of wolves. If you get up early, you will see the first rays of the sun falling on the complex of mountains that surround us, breathe in the fresh mountain air and indulge in the enchanting views of the surrounding mountains: Komove, Prokletije, Maganik and Sinjajevina. Here you will have the opportunity to participate in rural - "katun" activities: collecting and chopping wood, milking cows, producing Kolašin puff cheese and kajmak, preparing national cuisine specialties, etc.

The capacity of the Eco Katun is 80 beds in wooden huts with 2 to 7 beds. Electricity is provided by solar collectors in all facilities at the Katun.
